House of Spain And The Story Of How It Came To Be

 

Story time! Ours begins 6,000 years ago (dang!) in the beautiful country of Spain where our family, culture, and ancestry are rooted. Amanda’s father and his side of the family are from a small village outside of Salamanca called Villoruela (it’s real cute). He moved to the US at the age of 28 when Amanda’s mom met him, fell in love, and brought him back to Jersey (feel free to fist pump). And that was the real beginning of the House of Spain journey.

Flash Forward: The year is 2018 and Amanda and her husband Peter have been working in the service industry for 40+ years combined. Looking to move on, Amanda’s dad suggests importing olive oil from those sweet, sweet ancient roots back in Spain. They decide “why not?” and import their first half pallet of oil. Now the question became “why?” Why does anyone want to buy our oil? It was great oil, some of the best in the world no doubt, but how would they differentiate themselves from the rest? Both had been using CBD at the time to treat various conditions and thought “What about CBD infused olive oil?” Well, turns out that not only are they combinable but they are literally a match made in super food heaven. So, they did it! And wow, was it a game changer. Forbes reached out, Food and Wine, Boston Magazine and more! And then more products came- salves and tinctures and gummies, oh my!

Since then, we have moved away from our olive oil roots but are grateful every day that it brought us to where we are now. Special thanks to every friend, family member and customer that has supported us through this ongoing journey. We are so grateful for each and every one of you!
