Question: What is CBD?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of the most naturally abundant compounds found in the hemp plant. Unlike THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) which is the compound that produces a “high” effect, CBD is strictly for the health and wellness benefits of the hemp and cannabis plants. While CBD does not make you high, many users report positive results when using CBD products. The exact experience may vary from person to person.

Question: What Can CBD Be Used For?

Although CBD is not regulated or approved by the FDA, anecdotally, many people are using CBD successfully in their own lives to help treat an array of health conditions. These conditions range from treating inflammation, pain relief, anxiety relief, and more restful sleep among many others. The main objective of CBD is to work directly with your endocannabinoid system by binding to our CB1 and CB2 receptors. Because of this, CBD is able to maintain homeostasis within the body helping us feel happier and healthier.

Question: Will I Fail a Drug Test?

CBD shouldn’t show up on a drug test, however, some CBD oils contain trace amounts of THC which is the main psychoactive compound in cannabis. This could, in theory, potentially show up on a drug test because standard drug tests are designed to look for THC.

Question: What is the Difference Between Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum and CBD Isolate?

Full Spectrum

In cannabis extract, there are hundreds of cannabinoids, terpenes and other compounds which all make up the plant. Each compound plays a part, as nature intended, in giving the final product in effectiveness and potency. This is known as the entourage effect. When we produce products using all of the compounds present, this is called “Full Spectrum”. Full spectrum, CBD also contains less then .3% THC.

Broad Spectrum

Broad Spectrum CBD products contain various compounds and cannabinoids from the cannabis plant including cannabichromene (CBC), limonene, or pinene. Broad-spectrum CBB typically contains no THC.

CBD Isolate

CBD Isolate is a pure form of CBD. It contains no other cannabis plant compounds. It usually comes from from hemp plants, which typically contain very low amounts of THC. CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD. It may be suitable for first time CBD users who with to experiment with the potential health benefits, without the interference of other cannabis compounds, which may alter the effects.

Question: How Much CBD Should I Take?

The amount of CBD an individual should take varies depending on what you are treating, how chronic or severe it is and how much CBD your body needs supplemented. It is a good idea to start small and increase to a dose that works best for you.
